It is with great sadness that the committee of Bethnal Green Celtic announces that it has made the grave decision to close down the football club.
This was a decision that was not taken lightly. Every single member of the committee put in a lot of heart, sweat, tears and blood to make the club last as long as it did. And very much loved being part of the running of the club. You could put the amount into bullion and you would be unable to move for gold blocks.
Sadly no matter how much each of us loved the club there is only so much you can do with such a low about of finance. At this level signing on fees and match subs are not a request, they are mandatory and the players were not at all eager to step up and pay them.
Everyone connected with the running of Bethnal Green Celtic would like to take this moment to say a great big ‘thank you’ to everyone who tried to help keep the club alive for as long as it was.
It sure was a fun ride while it lasted.
